MaiKhao Beach is the longest beach in Thailand, and because it is located within the Sirinath National park, it still looks in many ways like a deserted beach. Luxury hotels have sprung up along the shoreline, but there are no chairs, umbrellas or food vendors in sight, unless you count the occasional Thai fisherman. You can walk eleven kilometers or more along the beach and only meet three locals fishing.
What to Do in Mai Khao Beach?
Mai khao beach is located in the south of Phuket Island. It is 11 km long and stretches from the end of Nai Yang Beach to Sai Keow Beach. It is a beautiful stretch of white sand, with clear blue waters and lush green tropical forests. It is also home to many small villages and fishing communities.

The beach is a great place to relax and enjoy the sun. There are no vendors selling anything, no parasailing, no jet skis, no beach chairs, and no other activities. The beach is 11 kilometers long and is made of white sand. It is very clean and you can see the sea from every spot. You can also swim in the water if you like.

Wat Mai Khao
The Mai Khao Temple is less known but still worth a visit. It’s located in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by a park and a lake. There is nothing special about the architecture, but there is a small sanctuary for birds hidden in the park behind the temple. Surrounded by a wall, the lake is the shelter for many White Egrets. Since it is a very strict temple, it‘s not recommended to just drive through.
Nai Yang Beach
Nai Yang Beach is located just south of Maikhao, and is a great place to relax and enjoy the sun. There are many restaurants on the beach, and you can spend your time there slowly enjoying drinks and Thai dinners. Mai Khao does not have any facilities on the beaches, so you will need to drive to Nai Yang to enjoy the beach.
